2026 District 186 GRADUATE WALK THE HALLS

Be a part of history! It is the 4th annual 186 Graduate Walk The Halls!!

What is Grad Walk The Halls?

Seniors, it’s your time to shine and inspire.

Get ready for one of the most meaningful moments of your senior year—the Grad Walk! You’ll hop on a bus with seniors from all three high schools to visit elementary and middle schools across the district. (Pictures of 2025 Grad Walk Day2)

Quick heads up — you won’t be picking your tour route, and that’s by design. Each bus will have its own route so we can hit every elementary and middle school across District 186 and make sure all students get the experience.

As you walk the halls in your cap and gown, just know to those younger students, you’re basically rockstars. They’re looking at you like, “that’s going to be me one day.” So lean into it, have fun with it, and enjoy the moment.

Spots are limited, so don’t wait — sign up early!

    • Parking is available across Taylor street by tennis courts or by Eisenhower Pool.

    • Walk into the lobby to check in

  • Students must wear their cap, gown and tassel

    • Optional to wear other academic cords & pins given by 186.

  • We suggest comfortable breathable clothing and shoes! (You will be walking a lot)

  • Students will need a signed permission slip turned in to your post secondary coach. You can get this from your post secondary coach!  (Metzke, Jannazzo or Kramer)

  • This will count as an activity day and not towards absences for final exemptions.

  • All Students will be required to ride the bus for the entire tour as we are making multiple stops on the tour.

  • Each stop will only last 10-15 minutes so we need students to listen to instructions from the chaperone and be present with a good attitude!

What You Can expect:

  • Upon arrival at the schools the elementary & middle school students will line the halls of their school as the graduates will be led by a school leader through the halls!

  • Seniors,we want you to wave, smile, give high fives, hugs etc. and bask in your accomplishments of being a graduate!

  • This tour is important as it shows our younger students in elementary and middle school what their future can look like as we celebrate our Class of 2026!

We can’t wait to have you join us for a memorable celebration of our graduating seniors and a highlight for so many students in our District!!

Go Class of 2026!
