It’s one of the most meaningful times of the year in District 186 as we partner with Horace Mann to celebrate excellence across our schools.
After receiving many nominations from our community, coworkers, and students, a committee made up of community partners selected this year’s honorees. Superintendent Jennifer Gill, along with Katie Hageman-Hageman Family Insurance and her team, had the special opportunity to surprise each winner with a banner for their classroom door and a basket of goodies, making the moment even more memorable.
We are proud to announce the 2026 Horace Mann / District 186 Rising Star Award recipients, recognizing educators in their first four years who are already making an incredible impact in their classrooms and school communities:
Nicole Pedigo – Franklin Middle School
Abbie Antonacci – Dubois Elementary School
Richard King – Matheny-Withrow Elementary
Frankie Kulavic – Springfield Southeast High School
Nicole Aiwaz – Washington Middle School
Congratulations on being shining Rising Stars in our district!
