  • The baseball team celebrated its seniors despite a rough outcome in their 11 to 3 loss to the Rockets of Rochester last night at Lincoln Land. There were a lot of things to praise in their efforts this season, including a total of over 30 awards between them at last week’s recognition assembly. It was fitting that several of them contributed hits in their varsity starts last night. Wade Snyder got the hit parade started with his first of two, and  was followed by Braydon Meyer,  Carter Beck, Carter Magalis, Caiden Bietsch, and Alex Heyen. Levi Friedrich, though hitless last night, was among the leaders in academic awards last week with 4. Pitcher Brody Scheffler ran into a tough inning which included some defensive miscues, but otherwise threw well enough to win on another night. Next up for the Solons is a 4:30 contest today in Bartonville against the Limestone Rockets.

And Now the Pledge of Allegiance:

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. (Moment of Silence)
